Description

A simple yet engaging and effective activity  to notice when the ‘e’ at the end of a word is removed before adding ‘ing’.

Talk about the words as they are uncovered to encourage the development of pupils’ meta-language.

Make sure that you encourage the children to notice similarities and differences as the game progresses. If they spot the ‘rule’ (take off the ‘e’ and add ‘ing’) themselves, they are more likely to remember it in the long run!
