This series of activities supports Newly Arrived learners with early English language learning.
They are designed specifically for learners working at Grade A – New to English or Early Acquisition – Grade B.
Use them as part of your school’s welcome and induction programme for learners in New to English.
Simple, scaffolded, visual resources with instructions for learners and staff to follow.
Each activity encourages learners to develop vocabulary around a specific theme. They will also be introduced to basic sentence structures and different language functions, for example – identifying, describing and comparing.
Use the booklets as a whole or print off individual activities as required.
Use the format of the activities and adapt them to different curriculum topics to give Beginners of English a head start.
