3D Shapes Picture to Word Bingo

Description

A visual and colourful 3D shapes game to help learners recognise basic 3D shapes and their written names.  Talking about the shapes introduces specific vocabulary linked to shapes – vertices, curved, edge, face, solid etc.  This language can then be transferred to describe real, everyday objects around the school. Activity includes four picture game boards and matching word cards.

The activity can be played at a simple level by identifying each shape first, then matching them to the word cards as they are selected. However, it also provides teaching opportunities around recognising phonemes and graphemes, word building and word/word correspondence.
